S0URPU55

Glamcrunkfunksters SourpuSS formed in 1969 in Alabama, though they are now based out of Long Island. Something about John Mayer and a trainwreck. They are comprised of Doug (bear) and his "musical slaves" Jess (lion) and Kaitlin (seal). Though they have never performed live, and have so far put out just the digital-only single/blooper reel "Do Ya Think I'm Kevin" (a nod to their former band name, which was in my opinion better), Sourpuss have already established themselves as the second best collection of white people to make music in LI history. "Kevin" features Jess on vocals, her lyrical subject matter ranging from a poignant retelling of her father's days in Vietnam, to maniacal shouting. Backing her up is a cheesy keyboard loop and some guitar wankery with a stupid effect on it. However, my favorite track of theirs is one off their forthcoming LP The Last McFlurry, entitled "New Leaked Track." Mostly instrumental, it showcases Doug's guitar chops. It's a feel good anthem for an alien invasion. I don't know who produced it, but if it was Doug, it's the best thing he's ever done. This song would be the second best track if it were on that Times New Viking album. Hopefully, the rest of McFlurry matches up.
